First Round

We are lucky to have a little specialty beer shop down the road. They get in all sorts of unique beers, both local micros and imports.  After sampling dozens and dozens of different labels over the last months, it has become evident that we need to start recording whether we liked things or not, lest we end up purchasing twice the same ones that we didn't care for.

Tonight - Contestant #1

Chimay Ale. $5.49 for the bottle. We've really liked the Chimay beers, but not this one.

It was a bit skunky. This has nothing to do with our dog having encountered a skunk yesterday.  He was also skunky.  Nice head. Wouldn't buy it again. The dog has a nice head also, BTW.

Contestant #2:

Orval - $5.99/bottle. Dry with a sour finish.  Dry. Didn't actually have much flavor.  Nice big head. I drank mine, but it was probably due to the fact it was in my hand and I could was at the point of needing a beer. Alan had more discerning tastes and decided life was too short. Won't be buying this one again either. Did I mention it was dry.
