Fourth Round

Westmalle Trappist Ale. $5.49 for a tiny bottle. It had a very nice maltiness and good carbonation...but nothing else on first blush.  It didn't have the typical Belgian ale characteristics; none of those fruity/citrus flavors but it became more interesting as the glasses emptied. It's a little lighter in color than the picture shows. Not a bad beer at all, so we might pick up another bottle. If we saw another beer style from Westmalle, we'd give that a spin, too.

Rogue Double Mocha Porter. $12.99 for a big bottle. Also on the "don't get again" list. It had a nice flavor and all, but was thin and lighter than we'd like and a little pricey.  I expect a double porter to be like eating a piece of bread. Rogue makes some very fine brews, though, and they are in the Pacific Northwest, so we still love them (just not this variety.)
